The Firebird Legend is part of Moldovan folklore – a tale of good overcoming bad. The legend tells of a mystical bird rising from the ashes to guide the hero to victory through many perilous adventures...

These single varietal wines are packed with personality but at prices that enable them to be listed as house wines.

FIREBIRD LEGEND

Chardonnay 2006 Bright straw colour; fresh aromas of lemons and green apples lead to a creamy, nutty palate with light citrus flavours and a creamy finish with a hint of walnuts.

Pinot Noir 2006 Bright translucent red appearance; red cherries,and a hint of spice on the nose, ripe but appetising and elegant flavours in the mouth, good, typical cool climate Pinot Noir; ready for drinking over the coming one to two years.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2006* Deep garnet colour; the bouquet has ripe cassis and plum notes; the palate is dry, substantial and shows blackcurrant fruit and finishes long and fruity - great with food.

Pinot Grigio 2006* Crisp lemony flavours and super length on palate.

Merlot Rosé 2006* Deep colour and vivacious raspberry fruit.

Where is Moldova?

Moldova is a small independent country (former member of the Soviet Union) lying between the Ukraine and Romania. It is a green and sunny country with a long viticultural history - wines have been made there for over 3000 years.

World class consultants Cellarworld International led by Angela Muir MW have been engaged to oversee the production of the range of wines for the UK market at the state-of-the-art Aurvin winery in Moldova
